Tidy up the grounds - porches - garages. Keep lawn trimmed and edged. Make sure that your yard is clean of refuse.
Your front door, or your main entry door, gives a vital first impression. Be sure it is scrubbed or painted if necessary.
Keep all steps, stairways and hallways free of clutter or any type of hazards.
Give your house a clean scent with a room freshener. If you are a pet lover, be sure to consider their "special" odors and areas for a thorough cleaning.
Turn off the radio or television while the house is being shown.
Keep pets out of the way during showings. They may detract the potential buyer from the chore at hand!
If possible, "disappear" during showings. Otherwise the potential buyer will feel like an intruder and will hurry through the house.
Dress up clean windows, if possible, with fresh curtains. Keep shades and drapes open to let in light. It gives a cheerful effect.
